Daily activities for each center may include:
Cognitive: thinking skills, readiness skills, understanding basic concepts, sorting, matching, identification of colors, numbers, letters, shapes, recognition of name in print, personal data such as full name, address, and phone number, parents’ name, etc.
Language: Expressive (what the child says) and Receptive (what the child hears and understands) language skills, listening skills, paying attention, following directions, and articulation skills.
Gross Motor: Use of large muscles. Involves running, jumping, hopping, skipping, walking, kicking, throwing, catching, climbing, sliding, riding a tricycle, etc.
Fine Motor: Use of small muscles. Involves drawing, coloring, tracing, painting, cutting, stringing beads, stacking blocks, playing with legos, puzzles, play-doh, etc.
Self-Help: Buttons, snaps, zippers, putting shoes on, brushing teeth, washing hands and face, blowing nose, putting on coats, hats, mittens, boots, etc.
Social: Learning to play cooperatively with peers, taking turns, sharing, listening to adults, learning to follow school rules, learning to use manners (Please, thank you, I’m sorry).
