WORSHIP, MUSIC, ARTS COMMITTEE
Welcome to the Worship, Music, and Arts Committee. The function of our committee is to provide for and support a meaningful Christian worship experience. In achieving this goal, the Worship Committee offers great potential for lay involvement in the life of the congregation at Messiah. As a member of the Worship Committee you can work with Pastor in the formation of the worship calendar and the selection of liturgies. You may also participate in the training and scheduling of lay assistants, acolytes, ushers, and greeters. As a member you would be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the musical instruments (piano, organ, bells, etc.) and the sound system.
As part of this committee you may become a member of the Seasonal Planning Team where you can help select hymns and seasonal music for worship.
As a member of the Altar Guild, also supported by our committee, you may take part in the preparation of communion, the maintenance of the communion ware, and the decorating of the sanctuary with banners and altar vestments.
Also supported by this committee are the adult and youth choirs, adult and children’s bell choirs, cantors, soloists, and other musicians.
