Messiah Lutheran Church - an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Join us in being faithful witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

The music ministry at Messiah is committed to being the living voice of the Gospel.

Our current ensembles often participate in worship and rehearse once a week from September through May. Rehearsal times & start dates are posted on the Music Bulletin Board.

Children's Choir is open to 2nd - 6th graders and participates in worship about once a month. The choristers prepare special music for worship & also lead hymn singing.

Joyful Ringers is a handbell ensemble open to students of middle elementary & junior high age. The ringers learn and develop musicianship & ringing skills and participate in worship about once a month.  We are currently unable to provide this because of a lack of students.  If you are interested in the bells, please contact Yvonne Fellenz, music director.

Messiah Choir leads the congregation in liturgy & song and prepares a varied repertoire of sacred choral liturgy to sing at worship throughout the year. Although often thought of as an adult choir, any young adult (of junior high age or older) wanting to commit to participating in this ensemble would be welcome. Messiah Choir participates in worship 2-3 times each month and on feast days.

Alleluia Bells boasts eleven musicians ringing three octaves of English handbells. They prepare hymn transcriptions and other sacred works written by various composers for handbells. They participate in worship 2-3 times each month and on most feast days.

Special Music: Messiah is blessed with musicians who will prepare special music for worship from time to time. Members of the congregation are always welcome to prepare vocal or instrumental music, as soloists or small ensembles, to bring to worship. Just contact the director to schedule!

Additionally, we are looking to re-start our Praise Band and Youth Choir! In the past, Praise Band has prepared 'praise & worship' style music for worship within the philosophy that music of all ages & styles is appropriate and suitable for the worship of God in as much as it draws our attention to and illuminates God's Word. Guitarists, bass players, singers, etc. interested should see the music director. Youth Choir also hopes to be jump-started again with the voices of our middle-school aged youth & hopefully even a high-school aged ensemble. See the music director if interested.
