I Am A Church Member: Discovering the Attitude that makes the Difference
Thom S. Rainer
Thom S. Rainer's book I Am A Church Member is a fantastic guide for how to be an active member of your church and community in an agae where more and more people seem disillusioned with institutions of faith. Rainer's book focuses on the idea that one's attitude toward being a member of a church, and what that truly means, can greatly improve our faith and contribution to the church. To paraphrase President Kennedy, Rainer's book asks us to think not what our church can do for us, but what we can do for our church.
But this book does more than simply tell you how to act, as it encourages the reader to form a contract with themselves to be better. Each chapter ends with questions for the reader to answer for themselves and a small pledge the reader can actually sign & date. This is not a book for someone to read and place on the shelf to forget, but a book that asks for your participation in improving yourself and your church. It is a quick read and I highly recommend it for everyone!

Loved this book. It reminded me of why I'm no longer just a "Sunday morning" church member. It's a must read!
